The Challenge

Thrift doesn't work like retail. Every piece is one of a kind, you need to try it on, and it's gone the moment someone buys it, so an online shop with checkout and delivery would sell things that no longer exist. But if you're hunting for vintage Levi's in Johannesburg, you still start on your phone, and social posts don't show up in those searches. The store also needed a place for the part of the business that matters most to it: the feeding days, the donation drop-offs and the ECD centres it supports.

What I Built

I built a browse-online, buy-in-store site. The catalog shows what's on the racks this week, you build a list of what you want, and you reserve it on WhatsApp before you drive over. No checkout, no false promises, no wasted trips.

• A shop catalog with category filters, a New Arrivals rail and an add-to-list shopping list (a preview that sends you into the store, not a cart)
• A Florida area page with directions, parking, taxi routes and the surrounding West Rand suburbs
• An Updates & Events calendar for the weekly feeding day, the monthly ECD nutrition drop-off, volunteer days and seasonal campaigns
• A Community section that turns clothing donations into a clear ask: one bag of clothes funds several warm meals
• A Johannesburg Thrift Guide to the markets the store trades in, plus an FAQ built from the questions customers actually ask
• Store, organisation and FAQ structured data, with AI crawlers allowed in
• WhatsApp, email and Google Maps directions one tap away from every section
